Whether you’re a teacher, group leader, parent or guest, we want you to feel confident before your stay. Explore our most common questions about City CYC, covering accommodation, catering, transport, safety and everything you need to plan a smooth city camp experience.
We are located at 538 Collins Street Melbourne, on the corner of Collins Street and King Street. We are conveniently close to Southern Cross Station (4 minute/250 metre walk) and tram services, and an easy walk to many of Melbourne’s best landmarks and attractions.
Our site is set up to host several groups at one time, so you may need to share. However, every group is allocated their own dedicated accommodation area and private function room, secured with key tag access for teachers/adults. The only area that groups share is the Dining Room. The room layout and staggered meal times enable several groups to dine together at one time.
Our site has 52 rooms/218 beds over five levels, so your group may be spread over several levels, depending on your group numbers and those of other groups staying at the same time. Your teachers/leaders will be allocated a key tag which allows your group to move between your accommodation areas, the Dining Room, and in/out of the building via the stairwell (or lift, if needed).
We do have a lift, however, access to it is limited to adults or guests with mobility issues. Our stairwell is the main access in & out of our accommodation and dining areas.
All bed linen is provided, including a towel, so there is no need to bring a sleeping bag, pillow or towel. Guests just need to bring clothing and toiletries.
Unfortunately, we don’t have on-site parking. There is also no availability for coach parking directly outside the building due to traffic/tram services and parking restrictions.
The simplest and safest coach parking option is to book a parking bay at the Southern Cross Station Underground Coach Terminal. Please refer to the Resources page on our website for further details. The closest overnight parking for cars is Secure Parking at 522 Flinders Lane Melbourne. This car park is open 24×7.
All CYC sites have an accreditation approved emergency plan for many contingencies. Please refer to the Resources page on our website for further details.
CYC is a Christian organisation, and our core ministry focuses on faith-based Holiday Camps during school holidays. However, when hosting schools, corporate retreats, sports teams, or special interest groups, we are fully respectful of different beliefs and do not preach or provide religious instruction unless specifically requested by the group.
We don’t have facilities for groups to do their own self-catering. The private function room allocated to your group has a kitchenette with a small bar fridge and microwave only.
We have a full commercial kitchen on-site with a qualified team of experienced cooks. Our bookings team will be very happy to discuss catering options for your group.
